Aloha!
Well, it looks like we're your first guests with small children.
(our boys are 3 1/2 and 5 months). Here are some recommendations
for all of you traveling with Keikis:
-
Poipu Beach Park is a fabulous place to snorkel. It has
facilities (a must with little ones!) and an enclosed keiki
pond.
-
Lydgate State Park also has an enclosed keiki pond and a
wonderful playground. This is also a great place for beginning
snorkelers (or swimmers).
-
Maha'ulepu Beach (Kawailoa Bay). The bay is a great place to
snorkel and beach comb.
-
Kintaros has good sushi.
-
Po's Kitchen has pretty good plate lunch/box lunch.
Your condo was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed all of the
amenities. Incidentally, Elijah (our 3 year old) names your
turtle "Sam".

Aloha! Jack & Dorinda
Thanks so much for a fabulous stay in your condo. It is
exactly what we were hoping for. We have returned 23 years
later to where we spent our honeymoon! We drove from Poipu
to Polihale and Poipu to Ha'ena. It has been great to see
everything again!
The best thing about Kauai is that you do not have to do lots
of organized events. Most of the sights to see are for free
and acceptable to all who are prepared to make the effort.
For example, the Kalalua lookout in Kokee State Park. We went
to the lookout and then proceeded on to the rim trail. This
was a bit of a goat path - but offered vistas which you could
not get from the viewpoint or from a helicopter or boat. We
grilled lots of the local fish on the BBQ and had some memorable
dinners out. I highly recommend the Friday night buffet at the
Sheraton Poipu - it is seafood based and covers appies to desert.
Pass on the King Crab though - it is much better fresh in Alaska
from where it comes!
We snorkeled many days and I (Gord) went diving 2x. Once at Turtle
Bluffs and once agt Four Fingers - both fantastic dives. We found
the island much changed from the 23 years since we've been, but the
charm is still here. Beautiful deserted beaches await the
adventuresome. Look for them.

Aloha Everyone! We are back!!
This is our first trip this late in the year. There are
still lots of flowers and warm sunny weather. It was a
little windy a times though. We enjoyed our condo and
did more to fix it up again this time. Snorkeling out
front was great as usual and the turtles were still there
waving their friendly flippers hello!
Maha'ulepu Beach at the end of Poipu Road is a must!
Brennecke's for lunch is a favorite for us. Botanical Garden
near Spouting Horn is worth the price. Tide Pools Restaurant
at the Hyatt along with Keoki's Paradise at Poipu Shopping
Center are still great places to eat but a little pricey.
Tacaria Norteneos (the crack) for good quality, cheap mexican
food is a great find ($4.50 for cheese enchiladas)!! They are
at the intersection of Poipu Road and Lawai Road.
Buy Peaberry Vienna Roast (green label) whole beat at Kauai
Coffee and grind it fresh each morning - we left a grinder!
Check out the farmer's market in Koloa at noon Mondays for
good prices on flowers and veggies and fruit.
We hope you have a great time during your stay here.

Jack & Dorinda,
We're leaving today - I could stay another week because
there was so much we didn't have time to do. The Na Pali
boat ride & snorkeling was outstanding. The sunset from
the Beach House Restaurant was gorgeous. Golfing at Wailua,
the Luau at Smith Paradise, Poipu Beach, Waimia Canyon,
the Mai tais at Keoki Paradise! & the live band, Hilo Hatties,
All Outstanding!
You have a lovely place with great access and view. I
thought that no air conditioning would be horrible (I'm
from Dallas!) but it was OK.

Hi Jack and Dorinda - Thanks for everything!
We were really comfortable and at home in your home away
from home. After a week here, traveling every where on
the island, we concluded we would not have been happier
anywhere else. To all who come after us, we recommend:
- Island Helicopters,
- Capt Andy's Big Power Cat,
- ATV riding with the company in Koloa Town - thru a
cane field to a waterfall - splashing thru the red
mud puddles
- Drive up by the canyon
- Tidepools restaurant at the Hyatt - do not recommend
the Luau at Gaylords - crowded!!

On arrival my comment was: "Well, it's not the Marriot"
- changed my tune immediately when the quiet, casual
charm of your nice clean condo made us feel really at
home. Enjoyed the sunrise and the great place to snorkel
just across the street. My daughter and I enjoyed our stay
and will recommend it to our friends. Thanks for making it
so comfortable.

Thanks so much for the lovely condo cottage. It
was our honeymoon love nest and will always be
special in our hearts for that reason. We especially
liked to draw back the curtains and watch the sunrise
in the mornings. We also got a kick out of the
chickens who would run pel mel down the hill to get
breakfast from the Hawaiian grandma who was their
benefactor. Some days when we would come back from
touring the island, the swimming pool would be a welcome
refreshment.
We appreciated all of the amenities provided in the kitchen
and the linens. We also enjoyed watching the Olympics on
TV or listening to our romantic love songs on the stereo.
A truly wonderful experience!

Dear Jack & Dorinda,
We have been coming here for 10 years also and many
times have stayed at P.K.'s. We have a daughter
that lives here - a well know artist named CoCo
plus family, we love this island.
We were ready to go to higher ground with Daniel
posing a threat. So another reason to party with
our friends! Got to go home and dry up!!!
Homey condo. Best pool and garden. BBQ was being
repaired, missed that part.
Thank You
Aloha

P.S. Plastic tumblers for pool perhaps!?

To Our Guests,
Welcome to our condo. We hope you enjoy your stay
on the island as much as we do. It has been 10
years now that we have been coming to Kauai and in
particular, the south shore. We finally got the
condo this year and came out in June to fix it up
for vacation rental. It will be home for us at
least once a year!
Please let us know what you enjoyed most about Kauai
and how we can make your stay more enjoyable the next
time.
